Hate is the new album from Hawthorne Heights, Part 1 in a series of 3 albums to be released.
The album, co-released on vinyl by American Dream Records and Cardboard Empire, includes an exclusive alternate version of “Wasted In NYC,” both on the record and with accompanied digital download. The American Dream versions include limited edition splatter, red, and white variants; and the band will be selling its own exclusive colors.
Included with each limited edition copy is a poster autographed by the band. In addition, each purchase of the limited edition variant will include a code to be used at a later date to gain access to an online acoustic performance and webchat with the band.

Paradise of Bachelors will officially release Hiss Golden Messenger’s masterful Poor Moon LP on the first of November, el Día de los Muertos. The first fully electric ensemble recording since 2010′s highly limited Root Work, Poor Moon represents both an elaboration and inversion of previous HGM efforts, proposing an America at perpetual sundown, wracked by devotion, wrecked by celebration.
To commemorate the release of the Poor Moon, the P.O.B. guys came up with a pre-order structure by which you can ensure your vinyl copy of the album and also order two additional digital releases—Lord I Love the Rain and Plowed: Live in Bovina—not available anywhere else on this earth. Chicago trio Russian Circles return with their fourth album – Empros . As with 2009’s Geneva, the album was produced by Brandon Curtis (Secret Machines, Interpol) at Chicago’s Phantom Manor Studio. The band picks up where the anthemic riffs and melodies of Geneva left off and injects evermore slithering rhythms amid skull-crushing heft with all the visceral intensity of Godflesh, Swans and Neurosis. Put simply, Empros is Russian Circles’ Master of Reality: a radical revision of both heavy and melody that is monolithic in its clarity and perfection.

The Act of Shimmering encompasses the act of leaving conscious thought behind. It’s accepting what lies beyond the corporeal, transcending the physical; the soul is aware and the body, eyes, skin are distant empty casings. A clamorous, chaotic cacophony surrounds a beatific center. An endless assault of guitar, of noise that glistens, a poignant rigor. Jannick Schou, proprietor of tape loop drone, places himself within the tunnel of din to produce this profound work: an ethereal dream using nightmarish parts and images. Black and grays generate vibrant innards. Brightness is unearthed within the fetid mass and these six tracks immerse the listener into a raging sea to find a gentle undertow. Furious outbursts emerge from simple, slow shivers. Tremors of noise gather, reaching an elongated crescendo, becoming transformative, and shattering what form or structure was designed to contain such an outpouring of sound.

Night People is a series of character studies. Alienated and out of fashion, these people stay up all night, stumbling through isolation to explore trauma and ecstasy in search of their own glamour. The boundaries of reality dissolve in their environment, and the light from within transforms street lamps at last call into beacons towards infinity. Guided through fuzz and fog, truths emerge, as the knots binding sensuality and spirit unravel. In a world defined by EDM’s music, the Night People’s stories are projected, as reality turns into a film. Like the characters in his songs, songwriter and guitarist Daniel Burton has experienced a rebirth and transformation. Night People punctuates his catalog of work under the Early Day Miners moniker. Additionally, this release finds the band coming full circle, transitioning back to the Western Vinyl label, home of Early Day Miners’ first record, Placer Found.
Just as the band’s name has been abbreviated, their process of recording and producing has been been stripped down for this album. Unlike the meticulous self-production that defined Early Day Miners’ albums, their first effort under the EDM moniker finds the band relinquishing engineering duties. Recorded and mixed by engineer Mike Bridavksy at Russian Recording in just five days, the Night People sessions have yielded the most expressive vocal and instrumental performances of Burton’s career.

Magic City has been performing around St. Louis since January 2009, and is composed of experienced musicians spanning a generation — Larry Bulawsky, Adam Hesed, Anne Tkach, Jonas Hamon, and Sam Meyer. The band has been touring the US and Europe with different groups since 1997.
They return with their album release party celebrating Les Animaux Épouvantables on July 23 with Warm Jets USA and The Ransom Note at El Lenador in St. Louis. Be sure to hit them up if you are around!

This is Centro-matic’s 10th full length offering; and it is mixed, mastered, and scheduled for release on June 21. Scott Solter helped out with these recordings, and Christian Helms and Erick Montes (Helms Workshop) provided the art direction and layout. All LPs come with a download card inserted inside the package with a code to download 320k MP3s. The LP was mastered direct from hi-res 24/96 files by Jeff Powell at Ardent Studios in Memphis using the same cutting lathe used for many of the classic Stax Records releases on the 60’s and 70’s!
