QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST – 3RD SHIFT
POSITION SUMMARY: ENSURE THE OUTPUT OF HIGH QUALITY RECORDS WITH THE SMALLEST AMOUNT OF SCRAP FROM 2-3 ASSIGNED RECORD PRESSES PER DAY.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
– COMMUNICATE WITH PRESS OPERATOR STAFF TO ACHIEVE MAXIMUM QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY
– PERIODICALLY LISTEN TO EACH RECORD ON EVERY ASSIGNED PRESS TO IDENTIFY PLAYBACK ISSUES
– SORT THROUGH RECORDS TO REMOVE SCRAP AND KEEP ACCURATE NUMBER OF RECORDS PRESSED
– IDENTIFY ONGOING SCRAP AND QUALITY ISSUES AND HELP PRESS OPERATORS RESOLVE THEM
– LISTEN TO AND PACKAGE TEST PRESSINGS
– PREPARE AND MAINTAIN QA RELATED PAPERWORK
– KEEP ACCURATE DOCUMENTATION OF ANY QUALITY RELATED ISSUES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
– ABILITY TO MULTITASK WHILE MAINTAINING EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION
– FAMILIAR WITH VINYL RECORDS AND THE CURRENT INDUSTRY STANDARDS OF QUALITY

(COLUMBUS LOCATION) — Quality Control / Dry Ops Assistant
Our Columbus, Ohio stamper manufacturing operation has an immediate opening in its quality control / inspection / shipping department. Previous experience not necessary, will train right individual.
The products being manufactured are metal “stampers” that are used to manufacture vinyl records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position requires final inspection of parts, and packaging of “stampers” for shipping.
Final inspection includes a visual inspection and listening to the produced metal records for obvious defects such as tick, pops, skips and noise.
Documenting and database entry, archiving, and metal master inventory management; and shipping of metal parts
Location and pulling of archived parts for production
Some production work (helping to manufacture stampers) may be required from time to time.
Experience/Qualifications
Works well with timelines and deadlines
Extremely detail oriented, with ability to consistently locate and enter database information
Ability to perform precision work with attention to details
Reliable and hard working
Mechanical ability / experience working with machines
Proactive communication skills, safety conscious
Basic computer skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to stand and work for several hours each day, as well as travel up and down stairs between our two-floor working environment
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds, and occasionally more
Ability to use hydraulic press, small machines, hand tools, and work with small parts
Ability to operate a computer keyboard
Ability to use a turntable, amplifier, speakers, and/or headphones for listening to parts
Full time (40 hours per week) / OT as needed
