Record Highlight — Take One Car

Take One Car is a group of good friends and family, from Upstate, NY, brought together by some collective desire to make music.  They spent the last 4 years performing, traveling, writing & recording in some form or another. On Record Store Day, they will be releasing their second full-length album, It’s Going To Be A Nice Day, on wax.

While the record does not officially street until RSD, you can actually pre-order a copy starting tomorrow (April 13)!

RSD Highlight #6 — Made In Aurora

Available on Record Store Day at Kiss The Sky Records in Aurora, Illinois:  Made In Aurora

This is a store release — not an “official” record store day release.  However, if you don’t live near Aurora, IL and would like a copy, just reach out to Kiss The Sky and they will certainly be able to send you a copy!

Made in Aurora: Volume One is a collaborative album of original music recorded over three days in March 2011 in downtown Aurora, Illinois. 30 musicians in 11 different band lineups contributed 16 songs that range in style from roots-rock to swampbilly to alt-country. It is classified loosely as an Americana release.

On RSD, the project will be presented on vinyl, with a “bootleg” CD enclosed in the package containing all content from the vinyl LP plus a number of additional songs. Listeners can enjoy on a turntable or on CD.

All Made in Aurora profits after expenses will be donated to the Paul Ruby Foundation in Geneva, Illinois to support research for a cure to Parkinson’s disease.
