Customer Highlight — Blood Warrior

Blood Warrior is the culmination of a life long collaborative desire between Greg Jamie (O’Death), Joey Weiss (Super Monster), Kristin Kellas and Rubin Berger (Musee Mecanique, Laura Gibson, Mirah).  Based in New York but made up of members who spend most of their time on the road internationally, Blood Warrior is a unique take on indie-folk and more traditional music of the Americas. Started as a recording project at Greg Jamie’s childhood home and finished at a home studio in Portland, OR, the band has now realized their music in a live setting. Blood Warrior’s distinct sound, consisting of guitars, casios, chord organs, autoharp, marching drums, lots of percussion and four part vocal harmonies, is ripe with unexpected hooks while nodding to roots in folk, gospel and psychedelia.

Our friends over at Safety Meeting Records made this great record come to market, and we are proud to have pressed all 300 limited edition LPs (hand numbered, and including a CD version of the album).  The record is available through independent retailers nationally, or directly from the band at one of their live shows!

Customer Highlight — The Aggrolites

Young Cub Records is assembling the amazing 7″ Reggae On Rugged Road series by the reggae/ska group, The Aggrolites (Jesse Wagner (vocals, lead guitar), Brian Dixon (rhythm guitar), Roger Rivas (organ), and Jeff Roffredo (bass)).

For five months, beginning on December 14, Young Cub will be releasing a new limited edition 7″.  You can pre-order each individually (or the entire series) by clicking here.

GGR is proud to be the official pressing plant for this amazing series – thank you to Young Cub Records!

Customer Highlight — Invisible Hand

Adam Smith and his Invisible Hand have been producing some of the best punk-laced pop gems and quietly experimenting with home-recording under the radar for the past four years; hitting their stride off a series of split 7” EP releases with Naked Gods (Boone, NC), The Alphabet (Harrisonburg, VA) and Borrowed Beams of Light (Charlottesville, VA). With the Funny / Not Funny Records release of Invisible Hand, the band is ready to expand their devoted-listener base.

GGR is proud to have pressed their latest full-length album, Invisible Hand. You can grab a copy from Funny/Not Funny Records.

Customer Highlight — Brandston

Thanks to Dreamover Records for having GGR press their Kickstarter-funded vinyl project for Brandston‘s Send Us A Signal LP.

Cleveland Ohio’s BRANDTSON recorded several ground breaking and influential albums for Deep Elm records in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. In 2004, BRANDTSON and Deep Elm parted ways, when they found a new home with The Militia Group. Then came “SEND US A SIGNAL”, which many consider to be their finest work.

This special limited edition pressing is available on a variety of short-run color wax.  Hit up Dreamover to grab a copy!

Customer Highlight — Mages

In the spirit of its namesake, Mages is a band whose music moves; whose songs evoke an aura, an ethereal presence rather than a short-lived hook. With songwriting that reflects collaboration, Mages offer an expansive and unique repertoire in both live shows and recorded tracks. Sometimes folk, other times the melodic riffs of bluegrass, pop and rock. Mages transcend the rigid definitions of any particular genre. They are elusive yet organic, grounded yet experimental. This music is not only concerned with the world, but with what is beyond here, the infinite.

GGR is proud to have pressed the new Mages EP, Magestic.

Customer Highlight — American War

On Rhetoric, Matt Scheuermann writes songs of every day life, of and for the people he knows, the ones he doesn’t, and all things that seem absurd and beautiful about this world. His frequently life-affirming, and quasi-existentialist lyrics function well with his versatile, dynamic vocals, which can shift from a colorful forte to a soft piano in the snap of a finger.

The Rhetoric LP is the first vinyl title released by Shout Out Loud Prints, which happens to also be a killer screen printing studio in Columbus, Ohio.  They print a variety of shirts, paper products, buttons, and of course, record jackets.

(oh yeah, in true analog style, they also handle cassette tape duplication and screen printing)

Customer Highlight — Such Gold

Hot off the presses – thanks to Joey at 6131 Records for enlisting us to press the Pedestals EP from Such Gold.  The record features intricate etched artwork on the b-side, and is available in three limited-run colors – pure white, blue/white marble, and orange/white/clear/blue marble.

Pre-order packages are online at 6131 Records.  You can also grab a copy from the band – they are currently on tour.  Select independent record stores will also be carrying the record soon….

Customer Highlight — Capricorn

Thanks to Phil Caivano and One Voice Recordings for enlisting GGR to press the debut 7″ by Capricorn.

The single will be available on the Monster Magnet’s European tour in November/December 2010 and directly from One Voice Studio.

Customer Highlight — Fidel Catastrophe

Check out our good friends at Broken Circle Records‘ latest release – Fidel Catastrophe‘s And The Bleak Shall Inherit The Earth.  It is available through the band or Broken Circle Records, and a very limited run of random color vinyl copies were made.  Thank you to Brent at Broken Circle for inviting us to press yet another great album!

Customer Highlight — We Are Trees

Hot off the GGR presses is the new EP by We Are Trees – Boyfriend. To say this band has a huge buzz would be an understatement.  Thanks to Collective Crowd Records for asking us to press this record.  Be sure to check out the band here, and then grab a copy of the wax (it streets 11.09)!
