The Deep Earth Soundsystem Consciousness Network operates out of the southside of Chicago, IL as a rotating hub of ideas based on electronic synthesis, rhythmic maneuvering, and minimal excursions. The personnel currently includes J. Shaver, O. Junker, and T. Janas.
GGR is proud to have pressed Deep Earth’s first vinyl LP release, Nachtmusik — Four hazy tracks covering 35 minutes were recorded, chopped, screwed, and spit-shined by Mr. Dan Agosto over four sessions spanning three seasons in this year 2010, and the album presents them in their entirety.
Thank you to Paper & Plastick for another great 7″ project! This time, it’s Bomb The Music Industry — Everybody That You Love — a deluxe 7″ single limited to 333 copies in yellow, 333 copies in orange, and 333 copies as half/half orange and yellow!
BTMI are known for their DIY punk ethic, offering free stencils and paint for fans to create their own T-shirts. They also offer their fans a chance to play on stage if they learn a song and bring their instruments to the show.
You can grab a copy of the 7″ here!
Thank you to Topshelf Records for another pressing — this time a 7″ of Nevada’s Caravels S/T, featuring the two new tracks entitled “Dream Beaver” and “Girth Impression”.
This new single is available for pre-order through Topshelf (the records are shipping the first week of January). It is available on one of four extremely limited colors of wax – solid green (tour version), solid yellow, gray, and black. You can pre-order all four colors together as a package deal, or individually here.
Test Pressing Contest: One random pre-order through Topshelf will receive a free test pressing!
We are proud to say that this is now our second Forecast LP pressing! This self-titled LP comes courtesy of our friends at Youth Conspiracy Records.
The Forecast’s third full-length is self-titled for a reason: It is the band’s best work to date, completely defining their sound and purpose. The album fuses together the best parts of mid-’90s emo, turn of the century post-hardcore and elements of both timeless country and pop.
This special pressing is comprised of eight different extremely limited runs of different color wax —
/122 Cherry 7-Up
/83 Suicide
/26 Cream Soda
/24 Mountain Dew
/14 Diet Cherry 7-Up
/3 Mello Yello
/2 Orange Fanta
/1 Vanilla Milkshake With A Cherry On Top.
You can grab a copy of these color records (while supplies last) from Youth Conspiracy.
Emulating the same punk rock DIY attitude and sloppy lo-fi records that helped shaped their youth, New Haven’s the Estrogen Highs crank out catchy garage rock. After a series of killer singles and full lengths on Telephone Explosion, Deadbeat, Never Heard of It and the tastily titled Milk n’ Herpes Records, Stefan, Mark, Wes, and Ross deliver their special dose of jangley controlled chaos to the Cycles EP for Safety Meeting. Taking nods from such bands as the Wipers, the Nuggets, and the Gories, they bring a “less is more” aesthetic to their song writing, hammering out infectious riffs with intense sloppy precision. Their music is honest, loud, and completely intoxicating, burrowing into the brain like a parasite.
This 300 copy limited edition LP includes a copy of the CD and hand-screen printed jackets. You can grab a copy from Safety Meeting Records, or at one of the band’s shows.
Thanks to Tsurumi Records for enlisting GGR to press the limited edition Second Academy Bohemian Grove LP on translucent pearl color wax!
As easily as The Second Academy can craft playful lo-fi rock melodies, you’re quickly reminded that a cunning snake lies below. Throbbing rock anthems twist in and out of more melodic and often experimental moments throughout the album.
You can pre-order the LP (which also includes a copy on CD) now. All web orders also get a link to download an advance copy digitally!

Thanks to Josh Reed and Seth Faergolzia for enlisting us to press this record!
